Center Hill Lake is a premier water sports lake for all types of boating and water activities. Water skiing, wake boarding, wakesurfing and tubing are all available at the Lake. Or simply enjoy a relaxing day floating and swimming from your boat or at the base of our private trail. Pull up on a shoreline for a picnic or camp overnight at one of Center Hill Lakes Primitive Camping areas right on the shoreline. Bring your own boat and launch at the Marina around the corner or rent a boat for the day/week from the Marina or from several businesses nearby that provide all types of watercraft. Enjoy!
The Hills surrounding the lake and the many coves make Center Hill Lake perfect for all types of water activities. You can bring your own watercraft or rent one nearby. Enjoy!
If you are looking to break up your time at the lake with some outdoor time on land, Center Hill Lake has plenty of hiking trails to explore along its banks. Excursions can range from a casual stroll to more advanced hiking, depending on what you are looking for. Wherever you choose to hike, be sure to come prepared with appropriate footwear, hydration, and protection against the sun and bugs. Enjoy!
Beautiful Center Hill Lake has become a very popular fishing lake. Fishermen can expect catches of largemouth, smallmouth and Kentucky bass as well as catfish, crappie, walleye, bluegill and bream. Or drive over to the Caney Fork just below the dam just minutes away and fish for Rainbow, brown, and brook trout. The lake is open for fishing year-round. Professional fishermen are drawn by the three species of bass found at the lake and several tournaments thrive at the lake. Enjoy!
There are many spectacular waterfalls of all sizes around Center Hill Lake and within an hour drive of Westview Cottage. The ravines and ridges that traverse this region provide for some amazing views and delightful hiking opportunities. Look into Burgess Falls and Fancher Falls that can be seen from the lake by boat depending on water levels or take a day hike to Cummins Falls, Burgess Falls, Fall Creek Falls, or Rock Island. Enjoy!
There is so much wildlife to see in the area. The nearby hiking trails are great spots for wildlife viewing of course, but even in Westview Cottage's own backyard, while sitting on the deck, you will see deer meandering by or squirrels jumping from tree to tree or many species of birds flying from place to place. Chances are, you may even spot a majestic Bald Eagle and mainly in the Spring and Fall you can hear the Lake Loons call out as they stop by the Lake during migration season. Enjoy!
